Privacy Policy
How we collect, use, and protect your information.
Last updated: July 2, 2026
Stamped ("Stamped," "we," "us") is a mobile app that helps families coordinate babysitting with sitters they already know and trust. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how it is handled, and the choices you have. It applies to the Stamped iOS app and related services.
The short version: we collect only what the app needs to work, we never sell your information, we show no ads and do no cross-app tracking, care information about your children is visible only to sitters you have booked, and you can permanently delete your account and data from inside the app at any time.
1. Information we collect
Information you provide
| Category | Examples | Why we collect it |
|---|---|---|
| Account information | Name, email address, verified phone number, city/state, profile photo | Creating and securing your account; showing your name and photo to people you connect with; phone verification prevents impersonation |
| Family & care information (parents) | Family name, home address, children's first names and birthdays, care notes (such as allergies, medications, routines), emergency contacts | Sharing care instructions with the sitter who is actually working a booking — and no one else (see Section 3) |
| Sitter profile (sitters) | Bio, years of experience, certifications, preferred rate, availability, hometown, clubs/affiliations, optional payment handles (e.g. Venmo) | Letting connected families view your profile and plan bookings |
| Activity content | Booking requests (dates, times, address, notes), messages between connected users, invitations, sitter recommendations you share with friends | Providing the core coordination features of the app |
Information collected automatically
- Diagnostics. Crash reports and basic performance data (via Firebase Crashlytics) so we can find and fix bugs.
- Usage data. Aggregate app-interaction events (via Firebase Analytics) to understand which features are used. This is not used for advertising and is not shared with data brokers.
Contacts (special case — processed on your device)
If you choose to use "Find people you know" or invite someone from your contacts, Stamped asks for permission to access your address book. Matching happens on your device: the app checks whether phone numbers in your contacts belong to existing Stamped users. Your address book is never uploaded or stored on our servers. If you send an invite, only the specific name and phone number you selected is used to deliver that invite.
2. What we do NOT do
- We do not sell your personal information — including children's information — to anyone.
- We show no advertising and use no advertising SDKs.
- We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
- We do not process payments between families and sitters. Any payment for babysitting happens directly between you, outside of Stamped.
3. Children's information
Stamped is designed for parents and guardians coordinating care, and the sitters they work with. The app is not directed at children: the children who receive care do not use the app or create accounts. Family accounts require the account holder to be 18 or older; sitter accounts require the sitter to be at least 16, and sitters under 18 must have their parent or guardian's permission (see the Terms of Use). We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13; if you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
- Information about children (names, birthdays, care notes, emergency contacts) is entered by their own parent or guardian, who controls it at all times and can edit or delete it in the app.
- Children's care details are protected by server-enforced access rules: they are visible only to the owning parent and to a sitter who is currently working an accepted booking for that family. Access ends when the booking ends or is canceled. Other users — including your own connections and friends — cannot see them.
- We use children's information solely to provide the care-coordination features parents ask for, never for marketing or profiling.
4. How information is shared
- With people you choose. Your name, photo, and city/state are visible to users you connect with, invite, or share with. A sitter's profile is visible to families they are connected or recommended to. Booking details are shared between the two participants of that booking.
- Sitter recommendations. If a friend shares a sitter with you (or you with them), the shared sitter's profile becomes visible to the recipient. Stamped never exposes a person's full network — only what a user explicitly shares.
- Service providers. We use Google Firebase (authentication, database, cloud functions, crash reporting, analytics) to operate the service, and Apple for in-app subscription billing. If Stamped offers subscriptions, our subscription state is managed by RevenueCat. These providers process data on our behalf under their own privacy commitments and do not use it for their own advertising.
- Legal. We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the safety of users (for example, responding to a lawful request from authorities).
5. Phone numbers and discovery
Your phone number is verified when you create an account and is stored privately — it is not displayed to other users. To make "Find people you know" work, we keep a minimal lookup entry that lets someone who already has your phone number in their contacts discover that you are on Stamped. Invitations sent to you are matched using your verified number only.
6. Subscriptions
Stamped's optional paid plan ("Parent Plus") is billed through your Apple Account using Apple's in-app purchase system. We receive subscription status (active plan, renewal state) but never your payment-card details. See the Terms of Use for subscription terms.
7. Data retention and deletion
- Your data is retained while your account is active.
- You can permanently delete your account in the app (Profile → Account → Delete account). Deletion removes your account and the data you own — profile, family and children's information, emergency contacts, bookings, availability, invitations, messages you sent or received, activity, and discovery entries — and deletes your sign-in credentials.
- Crash and analytics logs held by our service providers expire on their standard retention schedules.
- Deleting the app from your device does not delete your account; use the in-app deletion or contact us.
8. Security
All data is transmitted over encrypted connections (TLS) and stored encrypted at rest by our infrastructure provider. Access is enforced server-side with per-user security rules: users can only read and write the data their role and relationships permit (for example, care details unlock only for a sitter's active booking). Sensitive actions such as accepting an invitation are verified server-side against your verified phone credential. No system is perfectly secure, but we design access narrowly by default.
9. Your choices and rights
- Edit your profile, family, and care information at any time in the app.
- Decline or revoke Contacts, Calendar, and Notification permissions in iOS Settings — core features keep working without them.
- Delete your account and data in the app at any time (Section 7).
- Depending on where you live (for example California or the EU/EEA/UK), you may have additional rights — access, correction, portability, deletion, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them. We honor these requests regardless of where you live: contact us using the details below. We do not "sell" or "share" personal information as defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act.
10. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we will update this page and note it in the app. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the current version.
