Stamped helps families coordinate babysitting with sitters they already know and trust — no strangers, no public marketplace. This page answers common questions. If you don't find what you need, email us and a real person will get back to you.

Getting started

What is Stamped?

Stamped is an iPhone app for families and the babysitters they already know. Parents keep their trusted sitters, availability, bookings, and care instructions in one place; sitters manage their families, schedule, and job requests. There is no public directory — you connect only with people you know or who are shared with you by friends.

Who can use Stamped?

Parents and guardians create family accounts. Sitters must be at least 16 years old; sitters under 18 confirm they have a parent or guardian's permission during sign-up. Each account has one permanent role — parent or sitter — chosen when the account is created.

How do accounts and sign-in work?

You sign in with an email address and password. Every account also verifies a phone number once at setup — this prevents impersonation and lets people you know find you. One account per phone number.

Connections & invites

How do I add a sitter?

Three ways:

  • Invite by phone number — if your sitter isn't on Stamped yet, an invite is waiting for them when they join with that number.
  • Find people you know — Stamped can check, privately on your device, which of your contacts are already on Stamped so you can connect in one tap.
  • Shared by friends — parents you're friends with can share a sitter they trust with you, with a note about their experience.

Why can't I add a third sitter?

The free plan includes up to two connected sitters. Parent Plus removes the limit (see "Parent Plus" below).

Can I see my friends' sitter lists?

No — sitter rosters are private. Friends see only the sitters someone has explicitly shared with them.

Bookings

How do booking requests work?

Choose a date and time, who needs watching, and one or more sitters to ask. If you ask several sitters at once, the first to say yes gets the job and the request closes for everyone else automatically. If everyone declines, the request closes and you can try different sitters or times.

Can I cancel a booking?

Yes. Parents can cancel a pending or confirmed booking, and sitters can decline a request or cancel an accepted job. The other person is always notified in their activity feed.

What are care notes?

Care notes are your children's important details — allergies, medications, routines, emergency contacts. They're visible only to a sitter who is actively working a confirmed booking with your family, and access ends when the booking does.

Payments

Does Stamped handle payment for babysitting?

No. Stamped never processes, holds, or takes a cut of babysitting payments. Families pay their sitters directly, however they always have. Sitters can optionally list their Venmo, Cash App, or Zelle details on their profile — tapping Venmo or Cash App opens the sitter's profile on that service, and Zelle details can be copied to paste into your banking app.

What does a sitter's rate mean?

Rates in Stamped are informational — they help families plan and set expectations. The estimated total on a booking is hours × rate, but what you actually pay is between you and your sitter.

Parent Plus

What is Parent Plus?

Parent Plus is an optional subscription for parents that unlocks unlimited connected sitters, sitter groups (message several sitters at once), in-app messaging, and booking history. Current pricing and plan options are shown in the app. Sitters never pay for Stamped.

How do I cancel Parent Plus?

Subscriptions are billed and managed by Apple. In Stamped, go to Profile → Parent Plus → Manage in App Store, or open your device's Settings → your name → Subscriptions. When you cancel, Plus stays active until the end of the period you've paid for, then your account returns to the free plan — your sitters, bookings, and data are never deleted by a plan change.

Privacy & safety

Who can see my children's information?

Only you, and a sitter while they are working a confirmed booking for your family. Children's information is never public and never used for advertising. See our Privacy Policy for the full details.

Who can see my phone number?

Your phone number is not shown on your profile. During an active, confirmed booking the two participants — the parent and the sitter working the job — can reveal each other's number with a "Call" button, so you can reach each other when it matters.

How do I delete my account?

Go to Profile → Account → Delete account. Deletion is permanent and removes your account and the data you own. Note: deleting your account does not cancel an active Parent Plus subscription — cancel in your Apple subscription settings first (see above).

Troubleshooting

I didn't get my phone verification code.

Check that the number was entered correctly and can receive SMS, then use "Resend code." If it still doesn't arrive after a few minutes, email us.

I forgot my password.

On the sign-in screen, use the password reset option — we'll email you a reset link. You can also change your password any time from Profile → Settings → Account & security.

Something else isn't working.

Email support@stampedsitters.com with what happened, what you expected, and (if you can) a screenshot. We read every message.
